Web Design: Digital Scholarship Re-imagined

The Centre for Faith and Community (CFC), based at the University of Pretoria, is a trans-disciplinary hub focused on action research, community engagement, and transformative education. The challenge was to consolidate their vast academic output, spanning nine research projects, 30 educational programmes, and over 120 community partners, into a cohesive, accessible, and high-performing digital ecosystem.

Phase II focused on shifting the Centre from a fragmented online presence to a streamlined digital authority. A full audit of existing platforms and the implementation of a structured visual language ensured that their Theology as Change-making mission carried a consistent identity across every touchpoint.

Comprehensive wireframes mapped the connections between the main site, the Research Repository, and specialised hubs such as the Unit for Street Homelessness. Alongside this, a deep SEO strategy covering keyword optimisation, schema markup, and metadata ensured their research on urban transformation and social justice reaches global policymakers and local activists alike.

On-site photography and videography replaced stock imagery with authentic, human-first content, capturing the Centre's immersion in communities like Mamelodi and Marabastad.

YouTube and social media roles were aligned with the Centre's three core pillars, Research, Courses, and Engagement, establishing a unified brand voice across Wix, WordPress, and social platforms.
